Aswan Quarry

Today we went to the quarry to see the (2) unfinished obelisks in Aswan. This site, what remains uncovered by the surrounding city shows evidence that stone bashing, slaves and beer were clearly NOT the method used here. humans cannot produce exactly the same scooping pattern seen at this site, no stone hammer or bashing ball can produce the under cuts under the obelisk either, and though the “experts” like to say that the cracks in the top were from dynastic times, they were from more recent than that when, and when in modern times they tried to cut and (fail) and move the stone, it cracked along the top where there are 2 obvious saw marks. Going under the second obelisk is interesting and you can see the scoop marks coming in at an angle and then going under the stone is a fashion that if a human were doing this they would not have enough room to make the under cuts as seen in these photos… again the patter of the scoops is the same width and evenly spaced… bashing is an irregular process, that on this surface has little to no result as demonstrated by Yousef. Amazing site, interesting removals, and many more questions…
