We then got to spend some time with the Valley Temple and the Sphinx which was magical to have all to ourselves. She is very old and it is evident that there have been many many repairs over the years, but the water weathering on the encasement and the body of the sphinx is indicative of many hundreds if not thousands of years of water erosion, which would not have been possible except 9000+ years ago when there was rain at this site. We even got to go under the Sphinx (a rarity however with some baksheesh anything is accomplished).
