Today we sailed up the nile to Kom Ombo the temple of Sobek where the priests were initiated to conquer fear. They would place the initiative in a cave to wade through the crocs in complete darkness to conquer their fears. There were many interesting pillars here and even a wall depicting Imo Hotep (title for a doctor) and all of the surgical equipment of the time, most of which we still use today. In the small museum here there were some interesting croc mummies but as usual… no flash sir.
